Spray Foam Attic Insulation

High-performanceInsulation for warm, breathable homes.

Air leaks are one of the biggest causes of heat loss in the home. Gaps, cracks, and poor insulation let warm air escape and cold air creep in—sending your energy bills soaring.

Spray foam attic insulation solves this problem by forming a continuous, airtight barrier that seals your roof and locks in warmth.

Attic Conversion Idea

What Is Spray Foam Roof Insulation?

At Complete Insulations, we use Foam-Lok™ ENERTITE® spray foam—a water-blown, open-cell polyurethane foam that expands to fill every nook and cranny of your attic. It offers a high thermal performance with a thinner profile than traditional materials like earthwool, making it ideal where space is tight, such as in attics and loft conversions.

ENERTITE®:

  • Has a thermal conductivity of 0.037 W/mK
  • Meets BBA, CE, and pending NSAI standards
  • Offers sound absorption and airtightness
  • Is hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and inert when installed

This breathable insulation reduces moisture build-up, improves indoor comfort, and can help cut heating costs dramatically.

Spray Foam & Attic Concerns – What You Need to Know

If you’ve read worrying reports about spray foam in attics, you’re not alone. In recent years, poor installation practices—mainly by unqualified installers using the wrong foam type or blocking essential roof ventilation—have led to problems in some UK homes.

At Complete InsulationsWe do things differently

We only use open-cell spray foam approved for attic use, installed by trained professionals to meet Irish and UK building regulations. We ensure that proper ventilation is maintained by installing rafter slide cards or ventilation gaps, depending on your roof structure. Our process protects your roof timbers, preserves breathability, and delivers long-term insulation performance—with no impact on your mortgage or home resale value.

The Installation Process

Installing ENERTITE® spray foam insulation is fast, safe, and hassle-free. You will first need to clear the attic space.

Then our team:

  • Opens windows and protects floors with plastic sheeting.
  • Installs ventilation cards or rafter slides, depending on your roof setup.
  • Sprays the foam to the desired depth—either flush with rafters or left proud for cutting back.
  • Cleans up and tidy before we go.

You’ll start feeling the difference in warmth and comfort almost immediately.

Note: Spray foam produces no harmful fumes, but there may be some odour during installation. For this reason, we advise staying elsewhere for 24 hours, especially if you have respiratory sensitivities.
